Welcome to Bishop England High School!  Thank you for visiting our website.  Please take the time to visit all areas of the website to learn about all that Bishop England has to offer.  I would like to invite you to visit our 40-acre campus on Daniel Island in Charleston, SC to experience what makes BE special.

Bishop England High School is the oldest and largest Catholic secondary school in the Diocese of Charleston, and is often called the “Flagship” school of the Diocese.  Founded on September 22, 1915, the school celebrates over 100 years of faith formation, academic excellence, and athletic success.  The school builds on this foundation of success to create a future that will prepare our students for the challenges of tomorrow.

Bishop England High School has a highly qualified faculty and staff with 73% of our classroom teachers holding a Master’s degree or higher.  The school’s Options and Accommodations programs create a truly inclusive environment that serves all learners.  Bishop England has an active Campus Ministry program, prayer and sacramental opportunities, over 30 clubs and organizations, and 20 varsity sports that support the student’s spiritual, intellectual and physical growth.

The school has a 99% graduation rate with 98% of graduates continuing their education at a college or university.  Bishop England High School offers 13 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and 47 Honors courses.  The school achieved a 90% passage rate on AP tests for 4 of the last 5 years, with over 60% of AP students earning a score of 4 or better this past school year.  The school’s nationally recognized athletic program, with 135 State Championships, won 9 State Championships during the 2016-2017 school year.
