The Bishop England Baseball team got the season off to a strong start by winning the prestigious International Paper Classic in Georgetown. The team went 4-0 in the tournament defeating Hartsville, TL Hanna, Summerville, and Boiling Springs. Ryan Gaffney was named Tournament MVP. He was the winning pitcher in the championship game against Boiling Springs surrendering just one run on three hits in six innings. The team also had three members selected to the All Tournament Team: Leo Albano, Jacob Moore, and Geoffrey Gilbert. Gilbert also won the tournament’s Home Run Derby contest on Saturday.
