BE Pom Squad Making All the Right Moves to Win 9th in the Nation

POM squad is made up of 13 girls this year and their Coach is Patrice Christian, who also coaches the College of Charleston dance team. There are 8 Freshmen, 3 Sophomores, and 2 Juniors. For being such a young team, they have done exceptionally well!

The Pom Squad has been working on several routines since the end of the last school year, including routines for Game Days, a POM dance routine, and a Hip-Hop Dance Routine. They perform at games, half time shows, pep rally’s, and various competitions.

This year they placed 1st at Regionals with their Hip Hop Routine (first time ever for BE), and 3rd at Regionals with their POM routine.

At Nationals, they competed in Orlando, Florida against hundreds of other teams. They made it past the first round into semi-finals with their hip-hop routine, and then made it into finals as well. And after countless hours of practice over the year, they placed 9th in the Nation for their Small Group Hip Hop Routine. Again, higher than any BE team has ever ranked. It is very exciting that they are so young as well because it is sure to mean there will be great things ahead for them.

The girls work throughout the year with 3 practices a week. They get up early but also stay after school to practice wherever they can in the community, in our gym, or even in the school hallways if they can’t find anywhere else.

Congratulations to the BE Pom Squad and all of their hard work!
