Madison Mummert Awarded Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital’s Youth Volunteer of the Year

Each year, the West Ashley Optimist Club honors youth volunteers in the Charleston area.  Madison Mummert has been awarded Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital’s Youth Volunteer of the Year!  Madison achieved this award by helping the community through her volunteer work.

Madison served last summer as a volunteer assisting the staff and transporting patients from our day surgery unit at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital. She worked well on a busy medical unit with medical professionals of all levels. This summer she returned to participate in the SCRUBS Mentoring Program working along with medical staff on a variety of patient units. She earned her certificate of completion in the mentoring program and has served a total of 70 hours at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital.

The West Ashley Optimist Club is a Civic Club that is designed to bring out the best in youth and offers contests and scholarships to help youth succeed in school and in life.  The Youth Appreciation Award gives agencies like Bon Secours – St. Francis the opportunity to honor their hard working young adult volunteers.
