Teachers are asked to nominate a student who they feel exemplifies the true spirit of a Battling Bishop. It may be someone who goes out of their way to help someone in need, someone who shows extraordinary kindness to others, or someone who participates actively in the community. Once a month the nominations are read at All-School Mass, and a member of each grade is chosen by the administrative team without knowing who the students are. The winners receive a TAG day and a pizza lunch provided by Orlando’s Pizza.
Freshman Bishop of the Month
Our freshman Bishop of the Month is someone who excels in academics and sports. This student is dependable, kind, responsible, and as one coach put it, just awesome! Faith is also a very important part of this student’s life. He may be a bit quiet, but he has all the attributes that we look for to represent Bishop England High School. Congratulations to Thomas Dietrich!
Sophomore Bishop of the Month
This sophomore student has already made a huge impact on our school. This student also excels in academics and sports, has endless energy, is polite, and outgoing. This student spearheaded a new club this year which has been a huge success, the Mental Health Club. Congratulations to Leslie Wysong!
Junior Bishop of the Month
This junior was nominated for being an integral part of a very special occasion that went even better than expected, Prom. She worked countless hours to make her vision of prom a reality. It was a wonderful evening, and we are most appreciative of your involvement in making it happen. Congratulations, Darby Merrill!
Senior Bishop of the Month
Finally, our senior Bishop of the Month is someone who has cheerfully worked on committees in numerous clubs, has the ability to “think outside the box”, is organized, and leads by example. The student’s love for Bishop England is evidenced by her commitment to academics, clubs, and the choral program. We are so proud of our Senior Bishop of the Month, Izzy Benner!
