Easter Break in Greece

A group of 30 students traveled to Greece over East break. They landed in Athens and took a guided tour of the Acropolis and the Parthenon. They explored the Plaka district and attended a cooking class learning how to make authentic and amazing tzatziki sauce!

After Athens, they traveled by bus up to Delphi to climb a mountain called the Oracle and see an ancient Theatre and an Olympic Stadium. After leaving Delphi, they went to a monastery suspended in the sky in the Meteroa Region. There are several monasteries built on top and IN the rock formations. They ended up in Thessaloniki and explored the history there.
Since the group was traveling during the Greek Holy Week, they could witness their traditions with Good Friday. One of which was watching a procession of people carry the casket of Jesus down the street. It was beautiful and somber. After leaving Thessaloniki, they returned to Athens, where they had a “Greek Evening” eating delicious Greek food, dancing, and smashed plates!

Overall, the trip was an incredible experience. Students learned so much, saw history come to life, and made friendships and memories that will last a lifetime!
